Give Yourself the Gift of Exercise this Holiday Season
When you've taken the time to get a 30-minute aerobic workout, lifted weights, or had a football catch session with your children, your uncle's jokes don't seem quite as bad, and your mother-in-law's comments aren't half as annoying.

With television featuring fit, age-defying contestants in shows like "The Golden Bachelor" and "Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones," the moment feels opportune to adopt a proactive approach to self-care and ensure our fitness goals are on point, especially during the holiday season. Giving yourself the gift of exercise will benefit your loved ones, too, as we set intentions to live long and vibrant lives.

When we think of the word "healthy," exercise is a critical part of the picture. Exercise can play a significant role in reducing depression and anxiety as it releases feel-good neurotransmitters – think endorphins and serotonin – that can boost your mood and self-esteem.

Activating these natural brain chemicals can come in handy during the holidays in relieving stress and managing anxiety. When you've taken the time to get a 30-minute aerobic workout, lifted weights, or had a football catch session with your children, your uncle's jokes don't seem quite as bad, and your mother-in-law's comments aren't half as annoying.

Living a Long, Healthy, and Vibrant Life

Here at GAIN, we take our health seriously. Embarking on a consistent fitness routine supports our three pillars: mental health, physical well-being, and nutrition, especially during this time of year.

Regular exercise is critical for a healthy mind and body. Yet, if you're like many stressed-out, burned-out, and busy professionals, you want to get fit, but it's a real struggle to do it with consistency. Perhaps you're training for a triathlon, or you just want to start snowshoeing or skiing with your family. When it relates to your fitness, we start where you are so that exercise is enjoyable, easy to fit into your schedule, and even fun. The results you'll see will keep you motivated to keep going, whether it's signing up for a series of Spartan runs or taking a stroll during your lunch hour in place of sitting at your desk.

When you work with Coach Jen and Coach Dean, you'll learn how mind, body, and nutrition are interconnected, as well as how to disrupt deeply rooted patterns and habits that prevent you from exercising regularly. You'll be in good hands, as they hold bachelor's degrees in Exercise Science, along with two renowned certifications that address the specificity of training. Through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, they are certified as a Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT) and as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).

Out-of-the-box thinking delivers results

Our program doesn't come in a box. We get to know you to understand your goals and design your customized physical fitness program that will deliver results. We start where you are, whether you're training for a marathon or want to get your younger, fit body back. Whatever your needs, goals, or personal preferences, we have designed a program tailored exclusively for you.

Three Secrets to Feeling Good and Getting Fit

1. Do it Daily. Make a commitment to sweat for at least 30 minutes daily! Adults need at least 150 minutes a week (30 minutes a day, at least five days a week) of moderate-intensity activity.

2. Enjoy what you do! Find an activity that you love. Movement matters! Aerobic exercises, including jogging, swimming, cycling, walking, gardening, dancing, and pickleball, all count towards creating a great fitness routine while reducing stress.

3. Set goals! Match your exercise to your desired outcome. Whether it's to lose body fat, improve blood pressure or cholesterol levels, work up to 75 minutes a week of vigorous-intensity activity such as hiking, jogging, or running.

Your path to fitness is as unique as you are, and we're here to guide you every step of the way.  If you're ready to thrive versus survive this holiday season with a tailor-made plan specified for your needs and goals, then let’s connect
